Portuguese language which is the most spoken language in the South Hemisphere and the security are the principle characteristics which contribute to make Portugal a great country to invest, in the opinion of Rogério Fernandes Ferreira.

Rogério Fernandes Ferreira, the former Secretary of State for the Tax Affairs and founding partner of RFF Advogados, have marked his presence at the first Forum Económico de Funchal on this Friday morning, where he highlighted the madeirense specifity in lightning the IRC tax rate (of 5%) of the free zone of Madeira, while the reality of the rest of the country is rated at 21%, adding the state and municipal surtax.

The ex governator have explained how Portugal may be a investment platform, highlighting the “simple regimes, easy to explore by investors and with different fiscal and tax incentives”. 

In his intervention if this fórum, Rogério Fernandes Ferreira have also referred that Portugal is one of the countries with the most simple and easy regime for the investors. Talking about the non-resident regime – which “pretends to attract individuals with high value added activities”, particularly by application of the 20% tax rate (fixed) and exempting from IRS taxation –when the values are derivated by income from outside of Portugal – and also by application of gold-visa regimes, which include passport-obtaining facilities. The EU passport allows to circulate in the European space, Schengen Zone and Switzerland.
